Taper-faced
Taper-faced is one of the compression ring types where, since
the outer circumference is tapered and makes linear contact with
the cylinder wall, contact is good. It slides on oil when rising
and scrapes oil off when falling.
Has excellent air tightness and prevents oil loss through
piston. Mainly used in second rings.
