Thermostat
A thermostat is a component of forced-circulation cooling
systems that opens and closes coolant passages between the
radiator and engine to maintain a suitable coolant temperature
(80 to 90°C).
By doing so, it prevents excessive cooling in cold temperatures
by quickly increasing the coolant temperature to a suitable
temperature after the engine is started.
