Air cleaner
An air cleaner is one component of the intake system.
The air cleaner removes dust and dirt from intake air and
reduces the noise generated during air intake.
Dust and dirt in the intake air contain components that are
harmful to engines, such as silica sand, alumina, and carbon
cement.
If sucked into the engine, these contaminants could damage
cylinders or pistons and contaminate the engine oil, in turn
causing lubricated parts to wear more quickly.
To ensure optimal engine performance, it is necessary for an air
cleaner to have good air cleaning efficiency and air
permeability, capable of being used for a long time, and capable
of being maintained easily. Although various types of air
cleaners are currently used, these types are categorized as dry
types, wet types (oil bath), and semi-wet types.
