Feed pump
A feed pump is a mechanism in diesel engine fuel systems that
feeds fuel from the tank via the sedimenter and fuel filter
before sending it to the injection pump. Although the injection
pump pumps fuel, because its ability to take in fuel is limited,
the feed pump compensates for this.
There are generally two types of feed pumps: mechanical and
electronic. The type used depends on conditions such as the
location of the fuel tank.
