High-pressure injection
High-pressure injection is the high-pressure feeding of fuel by the common rail system. In this system, the supply pump pressurizes fuel and feeds it to the rail. The rail retains the pressurized fuel and supplies to the injectors. The fuel is kept at a high pressure while the engine is running. The injectors inject fuel into the combustion chambers of the cylinders in the appropriate amount and at the appropriate timing.
