Electronic governor
The electronic governor electronically controls the operation of
the injection pump's control rack via the governor solenoid in
order to provide the optimal fuel injection quantity.
Electronic governors provide the following three advantages:
- They maintain a more accurate and constant engine speed than mechanical governors, even when engine load fluctuates.
- They adjust fuel injection when starting and accelerating the engine to reduce particulate matter (PM) emissions.
- ECUs with a built-in electronic governor display codes on a value indicator or convey the error codes by flashing indicator lamps in the specified order. This is extremely helpful when performing troubleshooting.
