Collection
Collection is one of the main processes of the DPF system,
during which particulate matter is collected to prevent it from
being emitted in exhaust gases.
PM is collected in the DPF using a porous ceramic filter.
Because exhaust gas molecules are much smaller than PM, they
pass through the pores of the filter and are discharged from the
exhaust system.
